This is very famous,tasty and spicy dish in Maharashtrian recipe.As the name only suggest that it make use of lot of masala.its masalas are little different which makes it taste little different from the normal pulav.We can use vegetables like pulav but normally for this we use onion,cauliflower and peas.When we were kids we used love this rice dish.My neighbour aunty used to prepare very tasty masala bhath.In Maharashtra this is a must dish in their all weddings and functions.After i grown up i learned this recipe from my sister who is expert in maharashtrian recipes.In all maharashtrian recipe the gram masala they use is little different from the normal garam masala,that is kala masala/goda masala.one more masala is used in this recipe which we are going to prepare first.                                                                                                                                                                                                         As my friends know as my residence is moved from Warsaw to New Jersey i was almost off for 1 week from my blog because of shifting .Now i am back,so here i am sharing  simple yet loved by all recipe for Puri. This is one Indian bread which is loved by most of them specially by kids.It is prepared by all Indians from South Indian -North Indian.May be the combination prepared for this may vary.As i said earlier in all Bangalore hotels big puffed puri's are served with hot sagu which taste awsome. Ingredients: 2 cups atta(Wheat Flour) 1-2 tsp oil pinch of salt water to knead oil for frying Method: Take a mixing bowl,add atta,oil and salt.                                                                                     This is very best combination for puri in South Indian restaurants.Myself and my mother-in-law always order this for breakfast when we go to restaurant and all our family member scolds us.but what to do that big fluffy hot puri with sago we both can't resists.This is nothing but south Indian version of vegetable korma.Goes very well with Puri,Chapati and also with Rice.As i always mention if i feel if its healthy type,ya this is because its full of different vegetables and no oil is needed. No Grinding Instant Masala Dosa

Two three weeks back my aunt gave me this recipe .From that day i was planing to prepare this and finally last week i made it.As my family loves dosas,that too masala dosa so i was all excited when she told me this recipe.i tried this and turned out very well.my kids and husband loved it.Thanks chikki for giving me this recipe.  some how i felt its a healthy type as we don't make use of maida in it and also use wheat flour in this. it gives you somewhat authentic Godhi (whole wheat ) Dosa taste.        Ingredients: 2 cups rice flour 1 cup wheat flour  half a cup hurigadale flour(Roasted channa dal/dalia powder) a pinch of baking soda salt Half cup very sour curd water Method: Make a fine powder of Roasted Channa dal. This is my own recipe ,which when  i was pregnant and felt like eating some chapati spicy chutney and i made this recipe.That my co-sister also visited and she was pregnant too.so we both were very happy eating one.So last week i was recollecting my own recipe and tried once again,here thought of sharing it  .It goes well with rice,dosas,parathas and even with chapati. Ingredients: 1-2 Tomatoes 2-4 green chilies 1 red chilies 1 tsp jeera(cumin seeds) 1/4 tsp coriander seeds(optional) salt 1"jaggary 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1" ginger 1-2 garlic clove(optional) 1/2 cup coriander leaves chopped 2-3 tsp peanut(groundnuts) 1 tsp oil Seasoning: 1 tsp oil  1/2 tsp mustard 1/2 tsp urad dal pinch of hing(asafoetida) 1 red chili broken into pieces curry leaves Method: Wash and cut tomatoes into medium pieces.                          Chitranna / Lemon rice is Rice dish which is a very much speciality of Bangalore / Mysore region of Karnataka.We can prepare this dish very easily and it taste really good.According to the ingredients we can prepare different types of  Chitranna. few are like, Nimbehannina(Lemon ) chitranna Erulli(Onion ) Chitranna Capsicum  Chitranna Mavinakai (Raw Mango) Chitranna Kai-Sasve (Coconut-rai) Chitranna etc... Here i am posting Eruli Chitranna/ lemon rice .Among all these variety Lemon rice is the Famous and easy to prepare.During Festivals and in Functions mostly people prepare this dish.In festivals and functions only Lemon rice is prepared without any onion and garlic. Chitranna means mixed rice. My mom and i think many people Prepare Lemon rice/Mango rice with Lemon Juice on Ram Navammi.So here is the simple Lemon rice recipe..... [North Indian cuisine]---------Rajma{Red Kidney Beans } Masala/Curry

Rajma is a very famous north Indian dish.It is usually served with rice but  can be served with any types of Indian Bread. This Red Kidney Beans is a very good source of proteins . Ingredients: 1 cup Rajma(Red Kidney Beans)  1 onion finely chopped 3 tomatoes finely chopped 1 tsp ginger chopped 1 tsp garlic chopped 1/4 cup coriander leaves 3-4 green chilies 1 tsp red chili powder 1/2 tsp turmeric powder salt sugar 1 tsp garam masala powder 1/2 coriander powder 1/2 tsp kasturi methi seasoning 3 tsp oil 2 tsp rai 1 tsp butter Method : Soak red kidney beans (Rajma) in water for overnight.Cook this rajma in pressure cooker adding 3 cups of water and little salt,turmeric powder and 2 cut green chilies.the rajma should be cooked properly but should not be over cooked  too. Chop onion and tomatoes and keep aside.If you want you can blanch tomatoes and make puree of it. Ground together 2 green chilies,half of coriander leaves,ginger,garlic,1 tsp jeera and 1/4 tsp mustard

Banana Wafer Pudding

As name itself suggest what it is .Its a yummy dessert yet very healthy one.Its a very easy to make dessert and not much ingredients needed also.I made some changes in the recipe from the original one.i will post both the method below,both ways it taste good. Ingredients for original recipe: 3 cups cold milk 2 packets full of instant vanilla pudding mix 30 vanilla wafers approx.(in stores usually kept get near the bananas ) 3 medium sized bananas made round sliced 1 8 oz full of frozen whipped toppings Method: Take a mixing bowl add milk and dry pudding mix and blend them thoroughly with the help of whisk for say 2 minutes.Let it stand for 5 minutes. Peel and slice bananas into round shapes.to avoid the discoloring of the banana dip them in lemon juice/pineapple juice  before layering with pudding. Now take a serving bowl/dish arrange half of vanilla wafers at the bottom and up the sides of the bowl. now spread layers of bananas and milk-vanilla mix pudding.repeat this puddin

This is a very special dish of Karnataka.If you get nice Brinjal the long green ones as we call it Mysore Badnekai is most suited for this recipe.but any other brinjals also can be used for this.Her as said earlier not that good Eggplant we get so i most of the time prepare the same recipe using Capsicum,which also taste good.I still remembers my mava's restaurants Vangi Bhath,it used to be really amazing.He has given some easy tips once,he said if you don't have ready vangi bhath masala powder then quick way of doing it is just add Sambhar powder,Garam masala powder and along with this roasted sesame seed powder.And really it gives the same taste.Anyways i am giving below the proper masala recipe,but i most of the time make it this easy way.This also if we prepared its gojju/paste can store that for months and can be made instantly.
